Claudia Breitschmid & Sarah Keusch
plexiglass display cases, two HD video projections in loop, colour, 15:00, without sound
2016
installation view, Historisches Museum Baden, Switzerland, 19.03.2016–24.07.2016

This work was developed in the museum’s collection storage at the Historisches Museum Baden, in Room N, where objects are stacked up to the ceiling. Dense constellations emerge, recalling the logic of a cabinet of curiosities.

Claudia Breitschmid and Sarah Keusch recorded two videos simultaneously on site, each in a single continuous take. The recordings unfold in parallel. Distinct viewpoints encounter one another, draw closer, drift apart.

The videos were projected onto plexiglass display cases from earlier exhibitions, surfaces usually reserved for the presentation of original objects. A temporary choreography of gazes, rhythms, and overlaps emerges.
