History is never a fixed line, but the result of repeated transformations, overlaps and sedimentations. The title Palimpsest is borrowed from philology and echoes the geological image of layered strata.

Covers of National Geographic magazines were torn open layer by layer, exposing some fragments while concealing others. It is a view from the outside in, opening up space for associations and allowing new connections to emerge. Inspired by the magazine’s advertising photography, we translated the collages back into photographs and posted them on columns reminiscent of advertising pillars. The torn layers create a sense of depth, as if the gaze could slip into an interior. Walking around the columns, a fragmentary continuum of images unfolds, linking perception and space.
