Fluchtwege
site-specific installation with motion detector, light control system and fluorescent drawings tracing cracks across walls and ceiling

EPART, Grenchen, Switzerland, 2014
Fluchtwege is a site-specific installation realised for the group exhibition EPART in an air-raid shelter in Grenchen, Switzerland.
By entering the space, visitors activate a light control system. After a short delay, the room falls dark. A fluorescent drawing becomes visible across the walls and ceiling. In darkness, perception sharpens. The light returns, and the drawing almost disappears. Rather than being imposed onto the architecture, the drawing follows what is already there, tracing existing cracks and lines of tension within the masonry.
