Since 2021, I have been collaborating with Samuel Haettenschweiler on a long-term project addressing the disappearance of glaciers. During the summer months, we temporarily relocate our studio to the mountains and work in direct interaction with the landscape. Photosensitive papers are placed directly beneath the melting ice masses; the number and rhythm of the drops inscribe themselves into the paper together with sunlight, clouds, and wind. The resulting cyanotypes are drawn by the glacier itself: some prints retain residues of sand and mud, others bear traces of falling stones or small tears, while still others show discolourations caused by reactions between the mineral content of the water and the emulsion. The work “Until You Are Blue in the Face – 46° 36’ 33.73’’ N 8° 26’ 29.51’’ E, 08.2023” entered the collection of the Volkart Foundation in 2025.
